Bluetooth no longer working ...

Hi,
I used BT Magic mouse under 10.6.4 and everything was fine.
After updateing to 10.6.6 bluetooth is still working but pairing no longer completes. It find the device (mouse) but ends with error message that the BT software maybe not compatible with this version of osx.
Booting back 10.6.4 (other Disk) BT works as expected.

I use a ACER BT dongle (also tried different ones - all show same behavior)

so where is the difference in BT Software and could i use 10.6.4 BT kext to restore functionality ?

yes u should be able to just find out wich kext is used for ur BT Device and be shure u back it up manually before u upgrade

How to find out which kext's provide the BT functionality ? maybe there are dependencies to other kext's ...

IOBluetoothFamily.kext and IOBluetoothHIDDriver.kext aint loaded or missing thats probably why it wont work get them from 10.6.4 install ehm via kext wizard and be shure u repair ur permissons after installing

Hi,
Sorry was my fault. The Dongle was not connected while doing the kextstat. So with connected Dongle both kext are present and loaded.
I changed the 2 kext to the older version from 10.6.4. and after few seconds i got a message that the "installation" did not run successfull ?!?!
I just continued and run the system utilities from Multibeast (Rebuild Cache and Repair Permissions) and rebooted.
After reboot no Bluethooth stack at all is loaded (from control panel -> no more Bluetooth icon)
So i restored the original Version of the kext , run again multibeast and rebooted. Still no BT Stack !?!?
What could i have missed ?
I doublechecked that the correct version (from 10.6.8) is back in place ...

Hi,
i started over again and got back the BT functionality.
And now i changed again to the older BT kext from 10.6.4 and now i can successfully connect Magic Mouse and also the Trackpad. ;-)
